I was being treated by someone with both exceptional skill and exceptional care

Information

"Not all PT’s are created equal. If you want the very best, you go to Nora Greeley.” This is what a local doctor told me the other day and I can confirm first hand that it is true.

As someone who has experienced a LOT of sports injuries, I have also done a lot of PT over the years. The normal drill is you walk in, the PT gives you a quick look over, shows you some exercises and then goes off to work with the next client until he/she eventually circles back around to you.

This is not how Nora operates. After just a few minutes with her, I realized that I was being treated by someone with both exceptional skill and exceptional care. She took a customized, 1:1 approach with me—thoroughly assessing my injury, crafting a plan for my rehab, and also incorporating manual therapy as needed. She was flexible with my tight work schedule and responsive, frequently checking in and asking for feedback. She has a wealth of knowledge, but also makes you feel like a person who matters.

I would recommend Nora 100%! You will not find someone better.

Crossfit Athlete finds relief

Information

Prior to beginning physical therapy with Nora I was struggling with chronic low back pain and simply not making progress. I had gone to a big box PT clinic where I received little individual attention and a photocopy of the exercises I needed to do. Eventually my pain would go away, only to reappear months later for no apparent reason.

Once my rehab with Nora began, I quickly noticed less tightness in my low back. Previously risky positions started to feel more confident, like putting socks on or picking things up from the ground in the morning. Today I understand what my back and hips need to stay balanced, and this has given me consistent low back health. A year ago, I was unable to build fitness due to the fear of being in pain and today I’m confident again with exercising.

My pain is mostly gone, and I finally understand what was causing it

Information

I started seeing Nora Greeley at [location omitted] this past July for pain in my right testicle. My urologist recommended her after confirming the pain was not from a hernia, trauma, tumor, etc. I was hesitant to see a physical therapist until the doctor informed me that Nora is one of the only therapists in the area who specializes in this type of problem in men.

On my first appointment, Nora asked a lot of background questions and then gave me a full exam. We discussed what the possible causes of my pain could be, using models and diagrams to help me better understand. The next few weeks were spent trying to narrow down the cause of the pain. Different things were tried each visit at her office, and I was given exercises to do at home. When I started seeing Nora in July I was experiencing pain 5-6 days a week. By the time I stopped seeing Nora the pain was only sporadic— maybe 2-3 times a month.

I was impressed with how Nora truly cares about helping her patients. For example, she would often research my problem at home on her own time and was excited to try something new on my next visit. Nora felt my pain was caused by a combination of things, including lower abdomen scar tissue and lower back issues from years of powerlifting. I am happy to report that my pain is mostly gone, except for once in a great while if I overuse my lower back the previous day.

I would highly recommend Nora to any men with issues similar to mine.

I am really happy with the results of my pelvic floor therapy

Information

A few years ago, I had successful surgery to correct my uterine/cystocele prolapse condition. During a follow-up check with my Urologist, he discovered that I had developed a rectocele prolapse. This was confirmed by my gynecologist during my next exam. It was strongly suggested by one of my doctors not to resort to surgery to correct this type of prolapse, only as a last resort.

So I researched on the internet to learn for myself why my doctor cautioned me against resorting to surgery as a first choice, and questioned my gynecologist as to what other options I could do to help correct the rectocele prolapse situation, other than surgery. It was suggested to try therapy to strengthen my pelvic floor, and I was referred to [location omitted] where I met my therapist, Nora Greeley.

After hearing my history, as well as my concerns with this new prolapse development, Nora worked with me to develop a plan of exercises (including Kegel exercises), as well as what goal(s) I might have in mind by using this course of therapy to treat my condition. Everyone is different, and one of my goals was to not have to worry so much when I traveled away from home, about having “emergency stops” to a restroom. It is easy to make restroom stops when you are in your home territory, but when traveling away from home, you don’t know where the next bathroom might be. I had been in that “emergency situation” before when I was on trips. That was a big concern for me, the fear of being caught, and having no need to make an “emergency restroom stop.”

As I did my exercises over the next few weeks, my condition improved. I learned important tips on how to help void better; with diet and getting plenty of fluids, be more regular in my bowel movements, and how to strengthen the pelvic floor, which aids in the function of the internal organs it supports.

So far, I am really happy with the results of my pelvic floor therapy and would strongly suggest this type of therapy to anyone who is experiencing a prolapse issue. I feel confident that with the plan of exercises and tips I have been given, that I will continue to improve and be able to once again enjoy traveling away from home without having the stress of worrying about where the next bathroom may be.

Thank you, Nora, for your knowledge of my type prolapse condition and how it can be improved.
